The Saving Our Blue campaign introduced the ballot bins project on both sandy and rocky beached across the Maltese Islands to tackle cigarette butts litter by encouraging smokers to vote by disposing their cigarettes butts in the bins with answers to environmentally related questions.

This initiative aims to reduce marine litter pollution and eliminate the number one polluter, cigarette butts.

Each year, the campaign strives to increase the number of ballot bins across the Maltese Islands to raise awareness about the environmental impact of cigarette waste.
